Kirk McDonald

Elder

Kirk McDonald grew up in Stockbridge, Georgia. As a teenager, his love for the Lord intensified, and he soon became the youth pastor at 22 years old and ordained in 2006. He continued in this ministry for 6 years before hearing God’s call for him to plant a church to teach, love, and serve the community of Fayetteville. In 2012, he and his wife, Chelsea, picked up and moved to Fayetteville to answer the call. Kirk is our full time teaching elder who also leads our Marriage Coaching program, oversees the day to day of our staff members, and the spiritual health of our leadership team. Kirk and Chelsea live on a farm in Griffin along with their two beautiful daughters, their Australian shepherd (Penny), five horses, and several chickens.

David Patton

Elder

David Patton grew up in Jonesboro, Georgia. After giving his life to the Lord at age 16, he began to take on activities in the church he attended such as singing in the choir, acting, youth intern and serving on the church’s governing board. As a founding member of Gospel Community Church, he and his family moved to Fayette County to plant and serve this church. He became an elder in 2016 and since then has served in many capacities such as counseling, leading worship, overseeing finances, and community outreach. David and his wife Lindsay live in Griffin with their 3 daughters, Sadie, Stella and Sarah Jane, plus an assortment of farm animals.

Phil Danford

Elder

Phil Danford grew up in McDonough, Georgia. He has been leading worship since high school. In 2012 Phil and his wife Meliah followed the Lord’s call to help plant Gospel Community Church where he has served as the worship director. In 2013 he became a deacon and in 2024 he was installed as an Elder. When he’s not worshiping with his church family, he works as a residential construction manager and spends time with his wife Meliah and 3 amazing children.

Pete Walker

Elder

Peter Walker grew up in outback Australia on his parents’ sheep and cattle station caring for their livestock with his 4 brothers. He moved to the US to marry his wife Maddie who he met in Australia working together in a local college ministry. They have been attending and serving GCC since 2013 in guest services, children’s ministries, and community groups. Peter was installed as an elder in January 2024. Peter and Maddie have 3 children and enjoy caring for their dog and chickens in outback Fayetteville GA.
